Allu Arjun earned ₹300 crore for his role in Pushpa 2; still he is not the highest paid actor in India. but he’s not India’s highest-paid actor; how a man with 0 films in 2024 beat him
Allu Arjun’s reported ₹300- crore paycheck for Pushpa 2: The Rise is surprisingly not the highest-ever for a single film in India.
Pushpa 2: The Rise is shattering box office records across the board. Directed by Sukumar, the film has achieved a remarkable milestone by grossing ₹1000 crore globally, making it the quickest Indian film to reach this figure. Consequently, the popularity of the lead actor, Allu Arjun, has significantly increased, along with his financial earnings. Reports suggest that the actor could potentially earn ₹300 crore from this film, encompassing both his fees and profit share. Nevertheless, this impressive sum does not position him as India’s highest-paid actor, which is rather astonishing.
Shah Rukh Khan surpassed Allu Arjun.
The Hollywood Reporter India has recently published a list of the highest-paid actors in India. Although the success of Pushpa 2 has elevated Allu Arjun to a prominent position, he has not claimed the top spot. That distinction is held by a superstar who is enjoying a remarkable resurgence in his career—Shah Rukh Khan.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter India, Shah Rukh Khan received a profit share of 55% from the film Pathaan, resulting in an impressive profit exceeding ₹350 crore. This achievement positions him as the highest-paid actor in India.
It is possible that his earnings from Jawan, another major success in 2023, were even greater. However, since he served as the producer for that film, he waived his fees, meaning all his income was derived from his role as producer. Notably, following this prolific year, Shah Rukh did not have any film releases throughout 2024.
India’s other top-earning actors.
The content further elaborated on the earnings of prominent Indian film stars, highlighting that Salman Khan receives a portion of the satellite and digital rights from his films, amounting to approximately ₹200 crore. In contrast, Aamir Khan secures 60% of the profits.
Hrithik Roshan stands out as the only other Bollywood actor earning more than ₹100 crore per film, while Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Ranbir Kapoor command fees between ₹70 crore and ₹80 crore. In the southern film industry, Rajinikanth, Vijay, Prabhas, and Ram Charan are reported to earn upwards of ₹100 crore per film, with Rajinikanth and Vijay’s recent earnings exceeding ₹200 crore.
